God damn it – what a commotion! Chainwreck is a quintet with its members hailing from Dalecarlia and Stockholm, including Close-Up writer Sonny Jonasson.
This is an extraordinary example of how to embody the sound of new metal. The contents on their second album come across as brutal, hysterical, mechanical and barren – but with impressive heaviness, captivating melodies and full-frontal motion all over the place. Chainwreck makes a puzzle of the pieces that it takes to have a priority spot in my collection of records tagged as ”favourites” – right next to influences such as Slipknot, Machine head, Fear factory, Mudvayne, Meshuggah and The Haunted.
If you’re into these hard hitting orchestras, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t dedicate your ears to Chainwreck as well. [7]
